If you want to live longer, strain your brain
Research by a professor at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and a psychiatrist at the same university has revealed that the brain’s effort to recall something forgotten as well as to forget something is a free drug that can prolong life and save the youth. This research report has now been released as a book.
The research report further states that the use of mobile phones or computers instead of the brain to store memory has become an obstacle to maintaining the proper functioning of the human brain.
The brain is made up of three hundred and sixty (360) subtle cells that are sensitive to different functions. Seventy-five percent of the human brain is liquid. According to the researchers, about 70,000 thoughts are born and die in the human brain every day.

The human brain not only stores memory but also provides the instructions needed to successfully manage life at different times. For example, in writing this article, we are instructed to match words by typing letters together, an old lesson about the language that was implanted in the brain by school education many years ago.

The effort to remember a memory as well as the effort is taken to forget a certain memory is able to stimulate the relevant cells in the brain. As a result, research has shown that the effort to remember and forget something is beneficial in prolonging human life as well as in preserving youth. Having to dig up old memories in tasks such as adding numbers and filling in crossword puzzles is good for brain function.
It is not just a reflection on re-imagining old memories, but living a moment or two in those memories leads man to youth. Poets, novelists, filmmakers, and playwrights live in the fondest memories of themselves and others for their work, and they show signs of youth even when they are old.
The study also found that painful memories of grief fade with time. Although the traumatic event of a few years ago can still be remembered today, the pain felt then is not felt today. Although pain often fades over time in the human body, satisfaction is less likely to fade from the mind. The brain prefers to store memory of happy moments, even if not under the owner’s orders.
The brain also edits certain memories without telling them. When we dig back into the memory of a certain event that we were moved to or cried about in the past, it appears that the above event has been edited and stored by the brain in a way that gives a completely different idea than it did then. For example, in retrospecting something that was done with great interest on a previous occasion, the brain today notes that what was done then was foolish.
The process of forgetting or editing memory is often done by the brain without the command of the brain owner. But the brain must always be commanded to remember. Another set of cells in the brain itself should be used to command the brain. Depending on the subject, the brain independently determines which cells should be stored in memory and which commands should be stored. When commands are relaxed, the brain also becomes stubborn in ignoring stored memory. It is in this long-term neglect that memory is forgotten. Brain cells need to be kept active at all times. It should not be forgotten that reflection stimulates brain cells and keeps them hydrated, which is the best medicine available for free to prolong life and preserve youth.
